NATIONAL LAW ENFORCEMENT ADMINISTRATION

No Officer Should Be Left Without Support After Service

NLEA is building a nationwide network of mental health, legal, and financial resources for law enforcement officers—active, former, and retired.

Why This Matters

Law enforcement officers face repeated exposure to trauma, high-risk incidents, and long-term stress throughout their careers. While support may exist during employment, many officers lose access to critical resources once they leave the job—whether due to injury, burnout, or career transition. For many, mental health care, legal guidance, and financial stability become difficult to access at the exact moment they are needed most.NLEA exists to ensure that those who served are not left without support.

What NLEA is Building

Mental Health Access Network

A nationwide directory of vetted mental health professionals offering reduced-cost or pro bono services to law enforcement officers, former officers, and their families.

Legal & Benefits Support

Independent research, standards, and officer advocacy

Modern policing is facing a critical turning point.

Departments across the country are dealing with staffing shortages, declining morale, inconsistent leadership standards, and growing disconnect between officers and the communities they serve.

Yet, the most important voice in this conversation is often missing — the frontline officer.

NLEA exists to change that.

Through independent research, nationwide surveys, and evidence-based standards, we bring real-world officer experiences to the forefront and translate them into actionable insights that improve both officer wellness and public trust.
